Flash drive on Nvidia shield recordings skipping

I recently decided to try using a USB 2 terabyte flash drive on my shield instead of my NAS. But I'm having trouble with the recordings skipping while playing. It will play fine and then seems to skip 5 or 10 minutes segments and then play fine for a little while and skip again. And then it won't let me rewind I have to restart it over again. This is the flash drive I purchased.

Are you using the Shield as your DVR?
I don't think it's recommended to use that type drive.
A spinning hard drive or SSD would be the way to go.

I am using the shield as dvr. Maybe I will just stick with the NAS I have for now then.

You might want to look at the reviews at that Amazon site.
Might be why it's no longer available?

Aren't those USB drives fake ???

Be aware of fake 2TB USB sticks on Amazon that can cause data loss - Myce.com

Oh nice, I swear when I purchased it, it had good reviews. Returning it. With a good USB drive is it recommended to use as storage for dvr on sheild.

I don't have a Shield, so maybe someone actually using one for a DVR server will reply.
I would think a spinning hard drive or an SSD is recommended.
Same as recommended for a Raspberry Pi DVR server.
