Flex 4k Channel Missing

I just switched from Locast to HDHomerun Flex 4k, and everything went fine (right down to Amazon same day delivery), but when I downloaded the channel guide for my zip code I'm missing one channel--NBC King TV Channel 5.1/42.

I'm not seeing a way to manually add a channel or edit the other channels to the one I want.

Also, there are two stations with dual listings, for example the ABC channel is both 4.1 and 104.1, but 104.1 has no audio. What's the difference?

Welcome to Channels.
For your missing channel that depends on your HDHR tuner receiving it before Channels can do anything with it. Does it show on your HDHR tuner as an available channel?

As far as channel numbers in the hundreds, like 104.1. Those are the ATSC 3.0 channels coming from your HDHR tuner. Where 4.1 is the ATSC 1.0 channel.

The “100” versions are the ATSC3 (4K) versions of the channel. They don’t have sound because many clients don’t support them audio codec they use yet.

Regarding the missing channel.. is it not in the lineup at all or is the channel there but guide data is missing?

The channel is not there. And what's odd is the ABC and CBS channels broadcast from the same hill.

It is showing the HDHR device. I can try another antenna and see what happens.

When you say the channel is not there, we have no idea which one you're talking about?
You said you were missing NBC King TV Channel 5.1/42.
And then you say ABC and CBS broadcast from the same hill.
And It is showing the HDHR device

Maybe you're like me and need time to view and edit your posts (I do that a lot).
I'll let @Macnbaish follow-up with you.

I'm using the Channels DVR product. It can search for devices (e.g. Locast or HDHR). It finds the HDHR and then uses zip code to search for channels. In the channel lineup that pops up the NBC affiliate is not there for either HD or SD. All the other channels self populate without a channel scan.

Can you go to http://my.hdhomerun.com/#tab-2
Good time to check for a firmware update here.
Then click on your flex tuner>Channel lineup and see if it shows in that list.

I think you might be misunderstanding how it works. The channel list is still coming from the HDHR, based on the channels it finds during its scan. You can confirm this by viewing its web interface directly to see if the channel is listed there (my.hdhomerun.com). If it’s able to tune the channel, it should appear in Channels DVR as well. Maybe you can share some screenshots of where it seems to be missing?

Rice, thank you, that worked. It still wasn't showing up there, but the favorites I selected through Channels DVR were there. And more importantly, there was a way there to re-scan channels and 5.1 popped up.

Thanks for pointing me to the right page.

Cool. If it didn’t catch it on the first scan you may need to adjust antenna. You can while tuned the channel see signals under tuner status tab. You may also need to rescan source in channels settings

I know what you mean. Confusing.
HDHR Setup program scanning, HDHR web UI scanning, Channels DVR HDHR channel scanning...
Then you have disable and favorites on both the HDHR web UI and Channel DVR.
I was very confused when I started.

I didn't have the antenna in position when I plugged in the HDHR device, but it was pulling up a channel with it sitting on the bed. The channel scan must have been in background because I didn't see it happen.

SD HDHR tuners background scan every 3 days +/- 12 hours

This is actually my third HDHR device, the first being an early 2 tuner, two antenna device, and the second being the Cablecard device (Prime?). But I haven't used those older ones for years. Anyway, this was the easiest setup of any of them! Just the one problem.

And so far the only difference between this an Locast is I don't pick up a more distant PBS station, so I only have the choice of one (they show different things).

I'm just happy I ordered the HDHR first thing this morning because I imagine they will be out of stock pretty quickly.
