Flickering display on Channels app after Shield TV Pro awakens

Often, although not every time, my Shield TV Pro 2019 awakens from sleep, it comes up in Live TV with the display appearing to rapidly switch between two or more channels.

I submitted diagnostics from the Shield TV after hitting the back arrow button on the remote a few times. Unfortunately, sometimes I am unable to get the Channels app to do anything other than the flickering display, even with a force stop and/or cache clearing, requiring a system reboot.

I also emailed [email protected], attaching the log file from the Shield TV and a short cellphone video of the behavior of the display.

After a suggestion from Eric to look into the remote controls, I started trying various combinations of placing the external SSD and two USB remote control dongles on the two USB ports and a variety of USB hubs, and after a day or so the #2 USB port on the Shield failed completely.

Now I have both the dongles and the SSD on a four port usb A hub on Shield USB port 1USB port 1, and the problem has disappeared. I believe the failing USB port caused an apparent repetitive Pervious Channel command that led the display to alternate between the most recent two channels.

Witbout Eric's suggestion, I might have given up without solving the issue.
