Football season ... good options for TVE?

Particularly big ten college football, which I think is primarily on FOX sports. I've done YTTV in past years and just canceled when I don't need it anymore. Any new options on the scene that are a better price than YTTV and work w/ Channels? I've also recently had Spectrum Fiber installed (rural broadband expansion, yay!) - haven't looked at the prices for that, but wondering if there's a no-contract deal option there that works with Channels?

Cheers!

If you want Big Ten, then that means having NBC, Peacock, CBS, FOX, FS1/2 and BTN. TVE won't be enough for that (especially for Peacock games you may need to pipe those games in with CC4C or ah4c)

Having a HDHR or using the Fubo bridge will get you NBC, CBS, and FOX
TVE alone will just give you FS1/2, BTN, CBS and maybe FOX

I think Fubo should be enough and a Peacock subscription
Fubo TVE + Fubo Bridge + Peacock using either streamlinks or ah4c or CC4C will work

Sling Blue (w/ Sports Extra Pack) + HDHR + Peacock is the cheapest deal you can get away with and have everything Big Ten Football-wise

Thank you! We already have Peacock, so that's fine. Also have an HDHR (mainly to pick up the NFL OTA games). So, if I'm parsing that right, with the HDHR, shouldn't need the Fubo Bridge, right, so just comparing Fubo against Sling Blue w/ Sports? Both are equivalent from a TVE perspective? Anyone less hassle?

It depends on what you want and how much you'll willing to pay. Fubo has more TVE channels but Sling still has FS1/2 and BTN.

I think getting Fubo and using the bridge (at the very least to backup HDHR) is more worth it as Fubo also has 4K channels (if you're into that) with the bridge

Git you a sub maybe :zipper_mouth_face::+1:t2:

Wowsa, just went through the Fubo signup and stopped short when I saw the RSN fee. Yikes. $92+taxes, even with a $30 credit for 3 months from AMEX, that's w/in a few bucks of YTTV. The Sling Blue + Sports Extra has a 4 month special for $160, it looks like, which makes it ~$40/mo, which seems decent, but I don't see BTN on the TVE list, which Fubo does appear to have.

Hrmpf ... just going back to YTTV certainly seems like the least bother, lol.

Take a look here and pick the channels you want, the zip code you're in and you'll see what's the best option

Ah, thank you @Jean0987654321!! I forgot about that service. Sling Blue + Sports Extra is indeed the least expensive option, but still missing TVE for BTN - not the end of the world, I could just set the Sling DVR for the BTN games and not watch them via Channels. Probably worth $20/mo less, honestly.

Keep in mind that Sling generally has the worst service and video quality. And their NBA League Pass is bad compared to the other services.

My TV is only 65" and I've never used YTTV or Hulu Live or Fubu, but I've been using Sling for NASCAR and I find the quality fine, both with the Sling app, FS1 on TVE, and with my two encoders pulling into Channels with the ADB Tuner project. Olympics have looked fine as well. I also have a TV Anywhere for Sling and it looks fine, but I do think my HDHR/Channels picture looks better.

Also, Sling Orange (which includes ESPN) is limited to streaming on 1 device at a time.

Yeah, I would pretty much only use Channels via TVE, unless it's a channel that isn't on TVE, like BTN. Hopefully only a couple games are on BTN?

Big 10 network is on TVE. It’s called B1G. Didn’t they change from BTN to B1G a few years ago?
Anyway it’s channel 6199 on TVE.

I watch NFL and am able to get all Ravens games + a lot more with an antenna + amazon prime. I go to a lot of the home games instead of watch on TV, but have still been recording every broadcast for years, perfectly. Remember to add significant padding because many games extend past the scheduled timeslot.

BTN is available on TVE via several streaming services. Sling TV is not one of those.

Signed up for Sling yesterday and even though I was expecting to have to workaround BTN not being available for TVE, it turns out that it is. I did have to manually rescan FS1, FS2, and BTN for it to auth correctly, but I'm watching B1G Today via Channels right now!
