Force AATSC 1 recording vs ATSC 3.0?

I get great reception on the new ATSC 3 channels in my area and use them often. However they lack CC at the moment, and when I try to delete a scheduled recording and request the same show using the standard feed channels always goes back to the ATSC 3 feed for recording.

I do not want to disable the ATSC 3 channels but at this point I can't find a work around.

Channels will always prefer stations in your favorites list for recordings. So to ensure it uses ATSC 1.0 stations for recordings, add those stations (and not their 3.0 counterparts) to favorites.

How does the DVR pick which tuner to use to make a recording?

On the Channels DVR Server web admin, you can adjust the priority of your tuners to set the order in which they will be used for recording.

The DVR will always prefer favorited and HD channels first when multiple channels are available to record the same program. If the first tuner in the DVR’s list has a favorited channel, it will always be used for recording. If a matching HD channel is available on the first tuner, it will always be preferred for recording.

If no matching channel is on the first tuner, the same process is repeated for each subsequent tuner in the list.

Channels doesn't actually allow you to set tuner priority unless you have multiple tuner boxes. You can only adjust device/source priorities with first source having highest priority.

Let's all just mix apples with oranges and call them the same.

The Channels web UI passes allow you to specify the OTA channel to record. For example, the ATSC 1 channel 7.1 verses the ASTC 3.0 channel 107.1.

You can also establish a two-level priority on each device, as favorite channels are given priority over non-favorite channels.

(And channels marked as favorite in the DVR can be independent from the channels marked as favorite on the clients. Same for source priority order: client apps can have a different higher priority device for live viewing than the DVR has for recording.)
