Fox disappeared from Channel List

I tested the second day it came out and I could open the streams in VLC, so no DRM at that time. I have not tested since then so I cannot say for sure that they have not implement it since then.

If the Fox locals are DRM, how would they work in EplusTV for a game airing on it?

I sniffed the m3u8 and seems to be working without tricks for now.

I started this post and it seems others are clearly experiencing the same problem - loss of Fox on Channels. But now the discussion has gotten so technical that I don’t understand all the terms, like DRM. Bottom line: for those of us that are missing Fox because we want to watch and record their prime time offerings - not necessarily sports - are we out of luck forever?

Via the old TVE? Yes, you're out of luck. But this could easily be fixed if the devs wanted to connect to new fox one with our credentials. Some of us have been advocating for this, because you get the entire linear channel.

DRM stands for digital rights management, basically means the video's encrypted so the player has to support the decryption. And channels doesn't support this. It's not an issue for Fox because they're not using drm.

Sometimes, the developers are quiet when they are working on a new feature. Maybe they will surprise us soon with a new TVE source called "FOX One". :crossed_fingers:

Thank you so much for explaining this in simple terms. When you say some of us are “advocating” for it to the developers, how are you doing that and is there any hope it will work? It would be great if there was an actual “customer service” number or chat option where we could communicate with them when there are issues.

That would be great!

You can send an email to [email protected] and also go to the features request section of the channels DVR topic area to request it.

It wouldn't surprise me if they're already working on it, I don't think it's a big deal. But then again I didn't think it was a big deal to add a manual recording setup web page in the DVR web admin, so who knows

Thank you!

It should be possible to implement, I sniffed the m3u8, it works for like 2 days before the baton handoff with new key/url. Trying to code a good baton handoff, but tmm1 knows how do do this much better than myself

Tried the Fubo TV project and my local FOX is DRM, so can't bring it in with that.

Take a look at this post, haven't tried it yet.

If that works, the question is why don't the developers resurrect TVE channel 6002. Maybe they want the community to find workarounds so they don't have to support it any more. If so, why don't they just remove TVE channel 6002, like they have for all the other TVE channels they can't support?

Your guess is as good as mine.

can confirm foxone works, you need the cf. m3u8. CBS works the same way and a few other channels. channelsdvr has some proprietary methods for disney channels which only they can do.

Dang, I wish I could get CBS but they don't support my provider (I have all locals in my cable pkg but CBS TVE doesn't recognize Hotwire). So I can't grab the link. Is CBS a permalink too? If so maybe I can get a free trial to YTTV or something and snag it that way.

Yes it is , there isnt a special process for it, cbs sports too.

It came back on the latest prerelease.

Although it now authorizes your local fox channel so that it appears in your guide, it doesn't seem to be using the new Fox One since it still doesn't play for me, just errors out when I try to watch.

My local Fox station is back and working. It was one of the few fox stations without DRM before disappearing completely a little while ago. Not sure what any of this means, but thought I'd add my experience for reference.
