It will work if you set up a separate source for it following the post that I referenced here:
Obviously not TVE, but it does work to stream your local channel. And of course it will crap out from time to time I imagine so I setup a test recording of my local news every morning to make sure it's still working. If it doesn't I'll log back in with my provider and grab the latest link. Hopefully it'll continue to work.
You're talking about grabbing an m3u8 link for a custom m3u channel and I'm talking about Channels DVR TVE Fox channel 6002. Definitely different things.
Of course, like I said. This is just a workaround for anyone looking at the multiple Fox gone threads.

For me (not WNYW), it's back to NOT working like it used to. Just different error now.

I don't have FOX TVE as an option on the latest pre-release for DirecTV or YTTV.
I had to disable Local Networks via TV Everywhere and then re-enable it to make the station appear.

That worked for DTV but not YTTV. Thank you for the tip. The channel is there, but it does not play anything. That seems to be a common problem, though.

Trying to rescan experimental locals again is giving me an error and removing channel 6002.
400 Bad Request: "{"error_type":"Bad Request","error_message":"Bad Request: session already authenticated: bad request error (400)"}\n"
Tried deleting chromedata using update password, but still get the error.
Not sure how to "un-authenticate the session" to try again.
So I did the following to get Fox TVE 6002 back;
404 Not Found: "{\"errorType\":\"Not Found\",\"errorMessage\":\"Error: Token Not Found\"}\n"
Not sure if I had to perform each step, but it worked.
