Wow, thats a sweet rack!
IOCage Jail is similar to a Docker container? Or is it a virtual machine?

I'm not going to pretend to understand all of the differences, but from my understanding a jail is more of a lightweight virtualization that is isolated from the system to the point that it would be very hard to screw anything up in the base OS. I can experiment with jails and make as many mistakes as I want within it, then just destroy it and start all over with no consequences.

I haven't played around with Docker yet but I do have an unRaid build I'm working on that will give me that opportunity, I will know more when I get accustomed to it. For now here is a pretty good blog entry on the differences...

Jails are more similar to Docker or other containers. They seem to operate a little more similarly to virtualized systems, while having a heritage more like an enhanced chroot.

However, I'm not really a FreeBSD person, so I'll leave a link to their Handbook's chapter on Jails to explain what I can't: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/jails.html
