HDMI and Chrome Capture has been the focus of Channels DVR lately.
That's a good thing.
Reallly kind of silly to spend this much time on HDMI when the user base for this has to be exceedingly small.
Meanwhile, bugs reported months and months ago on the Android platform haven't been addressed.

HDMI and Chromecast Capture is just to keep Channels DVR fresh .. Those of us that use SageTV and NEXPVR have been doing this for years.
