Frndly TV for Channels

Yes. Once @matthuisman adds the proper mapping to Gracenote, it should be included to this source.

Yes but the guide data is not detailed, it's just the names of the shows. You can't see any details about season and episode numbers, episode description, etc.

So "No EPG" in this case really means "No detailed EPG".

I set provider put in my local Zipcode in listings then managed lineup using all and found metoons.

Can you please detail the process?

I am not seeing an option to search all in manage lineup:

You have to remove the gracenote=exclude source re add it no with EPG then setup your local provider.

I see that, now that you mention it. It's a guide, but only bare bones. I didn't notice...I guess that I was just happy to see anything...

Thank you, I got it working.

The channel is now showing up in the guide for me, but there are no program titles. Just "MeTV Toons @12PM", and so on. How are some people getting titles?

I've tried it with both gracenote set and no gracenote at all:

http://127.0.0.1:8183/playlist.m3u8
http://127.0.0.1:8183/playlist.m3u8?gracenote=exclude

In both cases, I can see the channel but no useful data.

Maybe try this in Settings / Live TV & DVR:

No change. I've tried removing and recreating the source, and restarting the DVR server, but nothing seems to help. I can watch the channel with no issues. I just never know what's going to be on. And, of course, setting a DVR recording is problematic.

Did you map the Channel to your OTA like I posted above.?

I just wanna point this out, because I think it’s being missed here. All you have to do is wait a day or two for @matthuisman to update this 3rd party Frndly/ChannelsDVR extension with the Gracenote ID and all will be fine. I understand a lot of people are excited for this channel. I am. But if you can wait a day or two longer for a channel that did not even exist till this morning, then you don’t have to fiddle with any settings at all. All you have to do is update the docker and you’ll get the channel with the detailed EPG data.

I’m just recommending you wait. Because eventually, this Docker is going to be updated. And all the work you’re putting in right now to get this stuff just perfect is going to be for moot. The channel is going to disappear from source two, and appear in source one.

I did miss that point. I had assumed that @matthuisman had already updated the extension and that I had done something to break it. I'm happy to wait a few days.

That’s understandable. It might not be common knowledge, but this Docker extension does detect new channels all by itself and does add them (you might have to do a manual reload of both sources or wait for the scheduled reloads). So you might see the channel and even some limited guide data. But @matthuisman has to step in with a Gracenote update to provide fuller EPG data.

What I did:
Duplicate the non gracenote source.
On orignal source disable metv toons
on duplicate source disable everything but the metv toons
set guide provider to your local OTA for the duplicate source
click the pencil next to metv toons and search all lineups, enter metoons.

Or just wait for @matthuisman to edit the docker with gracenote data

i have assigned it gracenote id 159817 as thats the only one that seems to have been advised in this thread.

Should be up within next 60mins.
If there is a different / better gracenote id - let me know

Btw: I was thinking about this while writing my most recent comments. When a developer releases code on to the world it might just be a hobby or a passing interest. And they just kind of leave it as is and go on to other things. But sometimes an exceptional developer does show a real commitment to their projects and the communities they affect. And @matthuisman is one of those developers who has made so many contributions to the Channels community (among others) and does so for free. So I would like to suggest to everyone to take this opportunity to at least think about making a support donation to him for the commitment he has shown us even though he has never been under any obligation.

i also spotted another new channel: Watch Dabl | Frndly TV - Live & On Demand
Anyone got a gracenote ID for that channel?

I think this is it
type: Streaming, name: Dabl, callSign: DABLSTR, stationId: 130094, affiliate: null, logo: https://tmsimg.fancybits.co/assets/s112157_ll_h15_ab.png?w=360&h=270
type: Streaming, name: Dabl, callSign: DABLRK, stationId: 130836, affiliate: null, logo: https://tmsimg.fancybits.co/assets/s112157_ll_h15_ab.png?w=360&h=270
type: Streaming, name: Dabl, callSign: DABLPP, stationId: 131032, affiliate: null, logo: https://tmsimg.fancybits.co/assets/s112157_ll_h15_ab.png?w=360&h=270
type: Streaming, name: Dabl FAST, callSign: DABLFST, stationId: 137540, affiliate: null, logo: https://tmsimg.fancybits.co/assets/s137540_ll_h15_ab.png?w=360&h=270

oh man :frowning: which one you think? FAST?

I think the first one as it has STR in the name. A lot of these national "sub"networks have 2 different guide data. One for OTA and the other for streaming. They are 95% the same but have minor differences
