Fubo TV project

There are two channels
Get tv is in the clear and works great.
Get comedy the sister station is encrypted. When you try to play it on the Fubo Bridge it will inducate that a newer version of the app is required.
We will keep an eye on things as they progress. My network tv worked yesterday. The website was checked and it plays fine.
I'm not surprised.

Viewing the live website feed for KCOP in a browser uses a player that the browser loads, so even if it's a DRM stream, it will play in a browser. Same with the NBC live website that uses DRM.

I'm 99.9% sure that the fubo-vlc-bridge gets the stream from Fubo and not a networks live streaming website. That's the reason it offers both HLS and MPEGTS playlists.

Info from the original dev on the difference between the two

@chDVRuser is correct that it is playing the stream from Fubo, which was explained well in the posts that were linked in the explanation.

I have updated the code and to remove NBC and MyNetwork from the LA and NYC areas as well as removing Get Comedy.

I didn't get rid of NBC in at the source level because some local NBC stations work and other stations that the NBC source gives us do not have DRM.

If anyone wants to give station call signs for ones that should be removed because of DRM in their local markets I will try to keep a list and update the code every once in a while to remove those channels.

Thanks for the update.

New version was working great but this morning woke up and none of the channels are working. The links show up when I go to the IPADDRESS:7777 link, but when I click on either the HLS or MPEG links to inspect the channels, I get internal server error. Docker is showing the container is running, wondering if Fubo messed with things again?

Update 1: Also confirming that previous solution, having each channel mapped in text format under custom channels is not working.

Update 2: Uninstalling new version and reinstalled Yankees4Life version enabled me to be able to access the channels again using the text version of Custom Channel.

Update 3: Reinstalled GCU version on port 7776 and still getting the same error. Can't see much in the channels log, just comes up with this when trying to tune the channel (second line is the fallback to the antenna):

2025/05/26 07:20:41.746087 [ERR] Unexpected m3u response for FuboProj: 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
2025/05/26 07:45:31.592990 [TNR] Opened connection to 10A22667/2 for ch8.1 WGAL-TV

I just checked my docker and everything seems to be working here.
The last update i have is from Saturday where channels that recently had DRM added were removed.

You will have to look at the vlc-bridge-fubo container log to see why it's giving Channels DVR a 500 error.

This is true for any container you run that gives a 500 error.

@jator Thanks for the heads up regarding this issue.

Docker Hub and gitlab have been updated to 0.0.4.

Fubo deprecated the API call that I was using to parse the source value into their new API to make managing DRM channels easier. I have removed that part of the code, and went through all the channels that I receive, and manually added all that had DRM.

A new pull of the docker should fix everything.

If anyone has DRM channels show up please let me in this thread. I will investigate and add them to the exclude section of the code every once in a while.

Confirmed I downloaded the most recent version and it's working again. I'll keep it on 7776 and have YFL version on 7777 as the emergency backup in case something else pops up. Thanks for fixing so quickly.

is normal v1.16?

It is. That is part of the code that I did not touch. If I remember, I will update it next time I make any changes to reflect the new versioning.

Not all containers show a correct updated version number.
What I do is keep track of the docker image created date for them using DIUN.
Easy to see that in Portainer and compare to https://hub.docker.com/r/genericchannelsuser/vlc-bridge-fubo/tags

Could the new Fubo project be updated in the Project One Click in Olivetin? @bnhf

Done. Pushed this morning as bnhf/olivetin:latest (aka bnhf/olivetin:2025.05.28).

Thank you!!!!!!

Anyone else having issues with NBC, Fox and possibly CBS not working through this project? Checked 2 different servers I maintain and neither is pulling in those channels even though it's pulling in other channels.

Wondering if Fubo DRM'd the channels?

Are the channels missing from the playlist and not appearing in the guide, or do they give some error when trying to view them?

Showing in guide and in the hls stream list, but when I try and launch, it doesn't play anything.

Where are you located? in California,Los Angeles we have my 13, nbc and ABC DRM'd.
I've looked over the Fubo website and it would appear they are working gradually on adding DRM to the streams.
Make sure you are using the latest version o the project.

Not sure exactly what he meant by this post, but supposedly it will tell you somehow if the channel is DRM?

Don't know if it displays it as a video message, or if he found that in the container log.
