Future event recording - newbie question

Glad I got my Channels DVR set up & running! I am a newbie to this system & am looking for information as to whether a feature I had on my Dish receiver exists on Channels.

I am to set up recording of shows that are in the schedule but there are some shows that either air very seldom or may never show up that I wish to program the DVR to record if/when the are available. For instance, it's June now & I know that "It's a wonderful life" usually airs around Christmas. Is there a way to put that movie into my list so it will be recorded automatically rather than me having to watch or search for it when it might be on?

You can do this with an advanced pass.
On the server's web interface, that's in DVR / Passes and then click on the gear icon.

Simply create an advanced pass with:

Title == It's a Wonderful Life

For ideas and suggestions how you can use advanced passes, take a look in the forums: Advanced Passes - Channels Community

This is very powerful. You can add many filters to be really selective.

For me, advanced passes are on top of my favorite features of Channels DVR.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Too bad that feature is not available from the app, it would be a lot easier, but I can still take care of it on the server.

One more related question. Can this be used to set up wild cards in the pass? For example, if I want to record anything that has "Ireland" in the name of the show.

I'll dig into the docs on this too.
