Future Series Events Show as 'Recorded' Rather Than Queued

Hi. I'm currently on a 30-day trial, and there's some behaviour with the series passes that's totally befuddled me. After recording the first series event (show), future ones appear as 'recorded' and recording doesn't happen. Can't for the life of me figure out why this happens, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Arthur

There's probably nothing in the guide data to identify each airing as a unique episode, so it thinks it already recorded it.

Show a screenshot of the Advanced tab on that pass.

OK, that makes sense. However the same thing happens when I request a show to be recorded at 5:00 pm every day. It records the first one, and then indicates that the following ones have already been recorded.

Again, what does the advanced tab on the pass look like?
If you have a channel with no guide data and the guide entries appear like ChannelName @ 5PM, you can set a pass to record those.

Channels DVR will not record what it thinks is the same episode more than once. You have to go out of your way to get that behavior to happen.

That's strange.
What is your source in Channels DVR that gives you that program?
SeriesID == Global News Morning is unusual for a SeriesID

It's the XMLTV file from my IPTV provider. I just looked at the XML and there's no seriesID per se, just a title. XML for that entry appears below. Funny thing is that NextPVR works perfectly fine with the same XMLTV file.

Global News at Noon British Columbia's local news stories and weather.

With bad EPG data, a series pass doesn't work.
Like I said, if the channels had no guide data, the airings appear like
Channelname @ 5PM Channelname @ 6PM Channelname @ 7PM ...
You can create a pass to record these.

OK then it looks like I'm hooped.

What does the pass and guide data look like for that one?

Please email the xmltv file to [email protected]

Done. Thanks for looking into this. I really like Channels, but an ongoing subscription is contingent on being able to solve this recording issue.

The EPG is missing a lot of information. You could try to find a different source, or remove the XMLTV and map the channels into the DVR provided guide data.

Ok, I'll give that a try. The XML file I sent in is just a subset (using (M3U4U) of the one available from my IPTV provider. I'll see what I can find in terms of a better source for guide data. Thanks!
