FYI: DISH TV outage

Just in case anyone else is having problems authenticating to DISH, don't bother. They are down completely...not just the TVE service, but all of their websites (dish.com, mydish.com and some other tertiary sites) as well as their phone numbers (sales, a few regional toll-free, etc.) all down. Their domain dish.com doesn't have any name servers, so no way to resolve their services on the internet :frowning:

I just got my mother switched off of Dish after being with them for well over a decade.

She hadn't had her NBC affiliate in almost 3 months due to a dispute between DISH and Cox television (since Nov 28 and still ongoing.) They gave her an antenna a few years back when the same thing happened. They never bothered to tell her there was a way to integrate the antenna feed into on screen program guide. Of course, they mentioned this when she was calling them to cancel. Switched to Xfinity and she immediately noticed the picture quality was way better.

They are a clown company and their days are likely numbered for this kind of stuff.

Just saw this on Bleeping Computer: Dish Network goes offline after likely cyberattack, employees cut off

Yep. I just noticed this today when the MIL was complaining that her MSNBC wasn't working. Trying to log in to any TVE with Dish credentials gives an "Unhandled exception" error. MSN, MSNBC, Discovery, etc. and even the actual Dish Anywhere site and app.

Not much we can do unless/until they allow logins again

I noticed some of the channels are either authenticating or don’t require re-authentication like TBS, Hallmark, and several others. My channels refreshed the lineup and I went down from 218 channels to 125 :frowning:

I do notice some headway on their other domains/urls that they use for account verification so hopefully they’ll be back online soon.
