I have been having an issue where the video freezes up for a second or two and then speeds up to catch back up to the audio. HD Homerun Connect and ATV hardwired. DVR is on Surface Pro 2. Have been using for 3 months without any issues. Replaced a router and the issue began.
Sounds like there are errors while recording. You can check the Log tab of your DVR around the time when a recording was happening to see if any errors are shown.

There seems to be some of network issue between your DVR PC and the HDHR. The DVR doesnāt receive any video data for 3 seconds, so it stops and reconnects. Every time this happens there will be a glitch in the recording.
Since it started when your replaced your router, there may be an issue there. Did you check to see if thereās a firmware update available on the router?
Are the HDHR and DVR connected to the router directly via ethernet?
Only the HDHR is connected directly. The DVR has always been connected WiFi.

Itās very hard to get reliable recording over WiFi. It sounds like the wifi signal is worse with the new router.
