Google Chrome must be installed onto your C:\ drive

Hi - I know this has been discussed before but have not seen the solution posted anywhere. Getting this error when adding the Xfinity service via TV Everywhere, regardless of browser, and I only have a C drive. Also tried with private/incognito. No go. What's the fix for that?

Thanks

Have you downloaded and installed the Google Chrome Browser ?

Of course. Also trying with Edge. Windows 10.

Is this a windows server if it is ? Is Google Chrome Installed on the server ?

Where is chrome.exe installed?

It’s a windows 10 workstation connecting to a Channels DVR server running on a Windows 11 workstation on the same network.

Chrome must be Installed on the Channels DVR server.

It is, also on C

Where on C?

On the Windows 11 Channels DVR Server machine ?

C:\Users\userid\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

Yes

Also using version 2021.12.03.1543

It should be here .... Unless Windows 11 is different ...
C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

Ok, made a copy into that folder and:

fork/exec C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

Getting same error when launching chrome.exe from that new folder. Is Channels looking for a hard coded path for chrome.exe? It can exist in multiple folders.

I think you need to reinstall and pick install for all users or something so it ends up in Program Files correctly.

I'm guessing you have the DVR installed as a windows service, and that's why its not able to find the installation in your user directory.

Was not installed as a Windows service but got it working by uninstalling and making sure it reinstalled into the path as given by Edwin above. Thanks very much.
