Google TV Channels App not restarting/refreshing

It started in the last couple of days. I open Channels DVR on my Google TV Chromecast, and everything is as it was when I left the app yesterday. It does not restart /refresh. I cannot see any new recordings; the live TV grid is blank. Nothing has been updated since I last opened it. It works when I force a complete Google TV Chromecast restart; then, Channels reconnects to the server, and everything updates. How can I force a Channels DVR app to restart or properly "exit" each time?

I guess I am stuck with a Force Stop on the app and restart every day until a change.

Using beta or release? What version number shown inside the app?
