I could not sleep one night and in desperation for something to watch, I tried Shield TV Live Channels. It turns out they use Google TV Live channels.
Has any work been done to add Google TV Live channels, similar to Pluto and other streamers?

IIRC, only whitelisted apps selected by Google are allowed into the Live Channels. (Also, the legacy manner of integrating into Live Channels, the TV Input Framework, has been deprecated from newer versions of Android TV.)
