Google TV recorded TV playback broken

Chromecast w/ Google TV is hooked up to a Sharp 1080p TV. The recorded TV playback doesn't work. E.g. the picture will be frozen while the audio plays. Then the picture will jerk a bit here or there. Any ideas about this?

Change to Software Video Decoding.

/Video Decoder

Select Software

I don't know why this is not the defaut. It seems to be required for most devices

Not Required for FireSticks or APPLETV they both use hardware. On some Android Devices hybrid works. Software decoding Hardware rendering.

I don't know about Apple TV yet for Android, software always seems to work and while other options may be more efficient, it seems to me that functionality should be the default. Possibly there could be a table of known to work devices and/or the setup wizard do a test.

Hybrid didn't work. "Software" took a long time to start, and kept stopping. I did a speed test, only 4mpbs (even though the server is wired)! I lowered the home streaming rate to 2, and it seems good now. Thanks!

You have much bigger problems. Your server is wired so thats probably ok. Your wifi connection for for the client is having issues you need to look into

Actually I rechecked the speed-to-server and it was ~150Mbps. So I set playback rate to original. and it seems fine now. Not sure what was going on after initially changing the settings.
