Guide data and Xfinity TVE

I've searched but didn't come up with an answer or solution.

I'm in Seattle area. Channels guide (local FOX station) shows NFL Falcons at Rams in the 1 PM time slot but Xfinity shows NFL Seahawks at 49ers in that same time slot which is correct.
This incorrect data is preventing my advanced pass from working. So the question is how is the location acquired for the guide data and how can I correct it?

You are correct it is a mess.

TVE Fox Local seems weird it started recording at 1:00PM NFL football but there is no game scheduled. Of Course, it kept getting interrupted as nothing was being broadcast. I wonder if there is a way to bypass these errors in the guide by using advance pass ? The problem is that on Android it combines the 2 Channels even though guide data is different.

PS Combining by guide data has it's own problems.

Yes I have even deleted and recreated the guide database without any luck in correcting it.
I can also go to the local Fox website and their guide has the correct listing for my area. I'm completely
stumped at this point.

Is it correct on zap2it.com for your zipcode? What about the generic est/cst/pst feeds without zipcodes on that site?

Was just about to post the same thing.
Here's from the generic est listing at zap2it

and generic pst

@tmm1
Yes on Zap2it's web site the first game is actually showing drag racing in the generic PST listing despite it saying it's an NFL game.

Xfinity has FOX 13 and FOX 13+ listings, 13+ is showing drag racing and 13 is showing fishing for the early game.

FOX 13 generic PST shows Falcons at Rams for 1 PM game and FOX 13 on Xfinity shows Seahawks at 49ers.

Also tuning into FOX from server guide Falcons at Rams is actually airing Seahawks at 49ers.

What is your fox callsign?

Call sign is KCPQ 13.

So it appears that the server is pulling the generic PST guide data instead of the Xfinity Pierce County/Tacoma South - Digital (98391) guide data.
Is there any way to resolve this issue?

That channel says SIGNOFF during the day correct? Same on the fox.com/live site its not streaming outside prime time?

correct but the prime time data is being pulled from the generic PST guide not the Xfinity guide.

To try to be a little more clear and precise:
I will get the correct broadcast feed just without advanced pass functionality. Which kind of defeats the purpose.

My guide data

Zap2it generic guide data
Advanced pass functionality broken due to wrong data.

Zap2it Xfinity guide data
Advanced pass functionality would work work as data is correct.

I understand the issue but I don't have a quick fix available. We use the PST guide because it shows correctly what times there is nothing being broadcast. We will need to develop a way to merge the PST data and the local data so the airings are correct.

One workaround I can think of right now:

  • disable fox on tve source
  • add custom channel source using correct tvc-station-id and url to the stream.mpg for the existing fox stream.mpg url

I apparently don't understand how to set the work around up correctly.
Thought I had it setup but the stream will not play. I did however get the guide data to display correctly.
