Guide data program info discrepancies

The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are being aired in 4 segments, and the guide data has been correct on our TiVos but incorrect on ChannelsDVR. The Men's events were primarily aired on Wednesday and Friday (Men's Day 1 and Men's Day 2) while the Women's events have been aired on Thursday and today (Women's Day 1 and Women's Day 2).

I refreshed the guide data several times a day and it never corrected even today. If I wasn't watching it closely today's even wouldn't even be recording because it was labeled as "Men's Day 2" so I forced it to record. How can these kinds of issues be resolved? Is there anything that can/should be done after they're already recorded?

TiVo and Channels use different sources for their guide data. There really isn't an issue to resolve, just an acknowledgement that the guide from each will not always coincide, and there will sometimes be errors and discrepancies.

After an item is in your library, you can manually modify its metadata.

Yes, I've manually edited library content extensively. With sporting events it's a bit more complicated because I usually offload a number of recordings to remote media locations where file-naming is key for identifying content. It'd be really helpful to be able to modify the filename while retaining its place in the library so that it already had a meaningful name when I'm ready to move it.

One concern is that when the Olympics start there may be a number of airings that don't get recorded due to incorrect differentiation in the guide data, which is a separate issue and may not be avoidable.

Once you add an item to Channels' library, it expects to be the manager of the item.

If you manually manipulate the filesystem which Channels assumes it has control over, then you will run into unexpected (and generally unsupported) situations.

(If you can modify the metadata within the library, why does it matter what the filename is on disk? If preserving the file is important for archival purposes, then I recommend you name the file as you prefer, and only then add it to Channels' library as local/personal media.)

Right. A large percentage of my library consists of imported shows from local sources, even if they were initially recorded by Channels. I guess what I'd like is the ability to rename filenames within the Channels universe, but I haven't seen anyone else request it so I don't have any expectations and just work around it.

Even when the guide matches the schedule posted for the Olympics, they happen in real time and live events sometimes don't happen as scheduled. The Scheduled coverage witch shows highlights and summaries of the day's events tend to happen as scheduled thus the guide is usually correct for them.
