Guide jumps around when scrolling up and down

Hello all, new channels user here coming from TiVo. I've noticed while browsing the guide up and down that the current highlighted show (on a channel) jumps around all over the place depending on how long that show is instead of staying on one given time.

In other words if I'm looking for something to watch at 1:00 p.m. and I scroll up and down the guide will jump all over the place as I move up and down depending on how long a particular show is on a channel. This is disconcerting to say the least. I don't believe that TiVo did this, it stayed on 1:00 p.m. no matter what show is in the guide as you move up and down from channel to channel. I'm assuming that this is intended behavior?

Also, I'm using the Apple TV 4K and I'm assuming that there's no easy way to jump from day to day in the guide other than just using fast forward and rewind? TiVo and most other DVR remotes let you use skip forward and back buttons to jump from day to day instead of having to scroll all the way through the guide to go from day to day. I'm guessing this is a limitation of the ATV remote.

Up and down using which buttons/gestures on which remote?

This happens on Firestick too, mostly when holding down a directional button. Often focus is lost altogether and Channels appears to frozen. The same thing happens when trying to speedily move thru the channals list in sourses. I just learned to only hold the directional down for short bursts to keep this from happening.

Apple TV 4K using the Siri remote. It's easy to see when using up/down arrow in the guide.

For jumping days forward or back in the guide, would it be possible to add a couple of arrow buttons above the guide (in the UI) that you could press? That way you could get around the limitations of the remotes.

The happens on my Apple TV as well.

@tmm1 I'm sure you already realize this but this sounds a lot like the same issue that's been around forever that you've tried to fix in the past. I posted a video several years ago demonstrating the "jump around" behavior, but looks like I deleted since then...

Yep that's it. That issue and lack of ability to easily go from day to day to see what's on your favorite channels make the guide very hard to use. Yeah I know you can use On Later and customize it etc but I'm old school and used to the grid guide to see what's on.
On later shows me too much stuff that I don't care about so you have to wade through a bunch of pictures, but a simple text display in the guide is easy to use if you can navigate it quickly.

It's just all in what you're used to.

This is exactly why I feature requested "jump to date" in the client. I guess it didnt get enough votes to be looked into.

Any updates on this request?
