Guide when starting Channels

Running 2026.09.16.2106. Under Global Client Settings > General > Start Up > Start Up Selection, I have it set for Guide. Until recently, when opening Channels on a client (1st gen Apple TV 4K), it would show the guide and it would start at the lowest channel (3.1 OTA in my case). Perfect, that's what we've come to expect. Lately, when opening Channels, it opens to the guide, but at a random channel, not at the top. Thinking I need to set the start up channel, I set it for 3.1, but that's if I had it set to start with live TV.

How do I get it so that it always starts at the top of the guide when opening the app? I don't like what it's doing now, I find it incredibly annoying.

In the client app go to settings >general>startup> make sure “set section on” says app launch and resume. If it’s already set like that there may be a bug in which case you would need to email support after submitting diagnostics from the app right after the incorrect behavior is experienced.

I've tried both settings and it doesn't make a difference. This has to be a feature, not a bug. If I'm watching a channel on one TV, close the app and go to another TV, when I open Channels, the guide is on the channel I was watching on the 1st TV. Neat feature, and I can see how some might like it, I'd just like to be able to turn it off so it behaves like it used to.

Opened a case and submitted my logs, but no response. This isn't the first time I've requested assistance only to go unanswered. I tried searching through the forum but either don't know what terms to search for, others aren't having the same issue or it doesn't bother other users. I went through all the settings again looking for anything that could alter the behavior but didn't find anything. Responded to the automated ticket response and submitted logs again.
