this is interesting, I have a Plex Lifetime, i will have to visit this again, but I do like Emby as the alternate
when using xml as guide data and not mapping with plex these filters are broken. been that way since they added xml as an option.
no it has never worked. there's more bugs too like if multiple nfl games are on every instance of an nfl game has the same guide data as the first one it saw.
Okay, good to know. This will not replace Channels DVR, itβs nice to use Plex HTPC on the computer in the garage.
This fixed me right up, thanks!
i am getting some weird guide data
In Plex
In channels (and correct)
Sent over as
http://192.168.1.239:8089/devices/ANY/channels.m3u?format=ts&codec=copy&filter=hd
For hdhomerun and
http://192.168.1.239:8089/devices/ANY/guide/xmltv?duration=1209600 for guide data
the cbs is messed up - both are channel 13.1
Yea seems like there's some bug on plex's side dealing with channels with dots in the number?
Interesting - thanks for the response
Otherwise its working great
Plex has no Problem with the HDHomeRun OTA which all have a dot in the number.
They are also using their guide data and don't have a mix of .x channels and channels with no .x - so lots of stuff is possible
I have ABC 2.1 and ABC 702 and they both show correct guide data. My Channels have Different Call signs.
Everything looks good mappings etc . ... have you forced a guide update ? ...
Yep
Yes but make sure to use the Mac url, the one you pasted is for Linux
So more credence to your idea - i removed the dvr entirely - changed to no filter (before it was hd filter) and redid everything - rebooting both channels and plex and rebuilding guide on channels
Here are the 2.x channels on plex for 8pm - the first one is mixing up 2.1 programs like abc world news and pbs programs from 22.1 like pbs news hour and 20.1 like family feud - whose line is 24.1
the second one is confusing actual programs on grit like the rifleman with movie movie which is on 13.6 and 20.2
for the next one walker texas ranger is on 20.3
and on and on
Its happening all over my guide - i wonder if my cough over 1800 channels is to blame - would love to push a custom channel list instead
time to spin up another copy of channels to fix this issue lol
There are intermittent posts on plex's reddit about this happening with threadfin and other proxies
Wait if you add channels m3u and xml to a new channels install it doesn't automatch the channels to guide???
Lots of this
There are 2 ways Channels DVR matches guide data to M3U ... Grace Note ID or the XML ... You most have not selected the whole Guide data xml.... so it is trying to match via Gracenote ID.... can you post a screens shot of the Internals of your Source.
