Hardware Transcoding h265 working or not?

I checked the box for HEVC. How do I know it is working? Does it show in the stats if I'm watching on an iPhone or Apple TV? My NVIDIA P2000 says it supports HEVC. I would love to lower the bandwidth since I'm limited on the server's upload speed due to my ISP.

For content up to 1080P there is very little (if any) reduction when using H.265/HEVC over H.264/AVC.

You will only notice real savings for 4K and above.

(This has been my personal experience when ripping DVDs and BluRays ... in some cases the H.265 versions resulted in larger files. Also keep in mind that most hardware encoders are not very efficient/high quality ...)

When watching content if you enable "View Stats" you will see the codec on the overlay.

Here’s what I’m seeing. Is it supposed to be HEVC under video format?

I may have figured it out. I had it set to original not 8mbps.
