I have two Antennas on the roof of my Bungalow (Regina, Saskatchewan) I get three channels here in English and 1 in French. From time to time when I turn on the app to watch channels ( on my Apple TV4) there is lots of buffering and pixilations that happens and takes couple minutes to properly watch TV, my question is you think maybe its the router in my system ( Cisco switch) or do I maybe need a LTE filter in my antenna line to filter out the cellular distortion ( I Iive about a mile from a large cellular tower), Also does having fast internet a must in my setup? ( I currently get 40 download and 10 upload) or does my internet speed play no part in getting OTA signal from rooftop to apple tv4 channels app
This question would be a better for the SiliconDust forums or their support staff who understand the hardware better than we do.
Yes, I have them installed and help with interference from cell tower signals. They are a necessity for antenna reception. Signal degradation occurs without them. Should be installed as close to the antenna as possible. My HD HomeRun has worked without any issues. In fact I get better signal quality with it than I do with my Tivo Bolt DVR.
Internet speed has nothing to do with it.
Internet speed does nothing for signal. The HD HomeRun has built in signal meter and should be used to adjust the antenna direction. The HD HomeRun must be Hardwired to your router or a switch. I use Moca ethernet using my coax cable. For best results all routers and adapters should be 100 mb or higher ports. Preferably 1gb.
