HD channels not working properly (updated)

The problem that I am encountering is that the main channels (FOX, NBC, ABC etc.) appear as if I have limited signal. Channels other than the main channels Work.

2-1 WJBK (FOX) looks like poor signal
2-2 Movies! Works
2-3 Buzzr Works
2-4 H&I Works
4-1 WDIV-HD (NBC) looks like poor signal
4-2 This TV Works
4-3 Me TV Works
6-1 WLNS-HD looks like poor signal
6-2 WLNS-GT Works
6-3 WLNS-IN Works
7-1 WXYZ-HD (ABC) Looks like poor signal
7-2 WXYZ-BN Works
7-3 WXYZ_LF Works
14-1 WHNE-LD Works
…

On my other tv (not through channels/AppleTV/HDHomeRun) gets perfect picture on ALL of these channels, so it shouldn’t be my antenna.

I have a HDHR3-US (Black) purchased in 5/8/2012. I have been using this HDHomeRun since then with no problems (until now)

I purchased the apple TV for the channels app and was happy with it for a couple of weeks and was having no problems. This problem began a couple of weeks back.

Do you have any idea what’s not working properly?

What is the app’s behavior on those channels? Do you see an error message? Is the video stuttering or choppy?

Can you try the free “InstaTV Pro” app on the same Apple TV?

I have recorded the what happen and you can watch here.

I showed the following channels on the Channels app, the InstaTV Pro app and on my regular tv (not through the HDHomeRun/AppleTV):
2-4 H&I Works
2-3 Buzzr Works
2-2 Movies! Works
2-1 WJBK (FOX) looks like poor signal

Let me know if you have any idea whats not working properly.

That does look like a poor signal issue. Since it’s happening with both apps, it seems like an issue with the hdhomerun.

What firmware version is the hdhomerun running?

There are known issues where the hdhomerun power supplies start failing and cause problems. You could try swapping it out for a comparable PSU.

Recommend you upgrade to the latest firmware (there was an update for your unit released last week), and reach out to [email protected] if you’re still having issues.

I did update the HDHOMERUN and then restarted it and now everything is working as it should. I appreciate your support.
