HD Home Run/Channels OTA

Good Afternoon - I have some channels that are not coming in clear. I have no idea how to tell on the Channels APP or HD HOME RUN of what the signal strength of a channel is. Is anyone aware? WHen I had the antenna hooked up directly to the tv, i was able to see the actual signal strength on the tv....

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you're on a device inside the same network as the HDHomeRun, open a browser to hdomerun.local. It should find your device and provide you links to tuner status so you can see details like signal strength & quality

Channels will show you the signal strength in the web interface while you are watching a OTA channel. You can also access the HD Homerun directly through its web interface and get the same info. There are also apps you can install on your PC or phone. Getting a good signal with an antenna can be a challenge and everyone's situation is a little unique. But luckily there are conversations all over this forum that can get you up to speed with tips and ideas.

The web interface of the HDHR tuners will show the signal stats, but not in real time. U have to refresh the page to see updated stats.

Use the HDHOMERUN Config GUI Tech software on your pc to see real time signal stats of tuners in use,

direct download.

If you are curious, you could also get the TinySA, a little device that shows the signal waveforms for each channel. It can show you the relative strength of channels, although it might not show odd quirks like multi-path.

If you are on Windows and have installed the Silicondust HDHR setup software (any version) there is a utility built in to that install. Simply run:
c:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config_gui.exe

Assuming you installed to the default directory.
