The drives in the Servio/Scribe can only be used with SiliconDust's DVR software. Channels can make use of any of SiliconDust's HDHomeRun tuners, including the tuners in the Scribe.

No. If you want to make use of their drive, you need to use their software. You cannot use Channels with their drives.
Exactly my point with different words.
Channels works with all their tuners.
But not all their drives for DVR.
That is a fact with any other DVR that uses HdHomeRun tuners not just Channels.

Exactly. Our topic here of course was Channels. But as the article mentions, same for Plex and others.
Question:
Why might one suppose that is; that view quality is better with Exoplayer? What's your deduction? Could it be subjective or are there reasons for that?
That is what my eyes tell me and I believe that most other players use the Native device decoders .. channels uses it's own.... but your eyes might see it differently.

Our app uses the system decoder and renderer by default. It should look identical to any other app.
In the latest APK beta I've turned on image caching and images will now appear even when the internet goes out.
