HDHomerun ATSC3 4K commercial detection

DVR on MacBook Pro. Commercial detection failed last night on ATSC3 recording. Is this a functioning feature, or should I only record regular HD channels? No program judging

I believe this is a limitation of ffmpeg as it does not fully support MP4 yet.

Wow, looks like they are finally trying to implement Dolby AC4 into Handbrake.

I am looking at setting up buying a TV tuner to try the Channels DVR at some points
Is comskip still not supported for ATSC 3?

Since Comskip uses FFMPEG to create its magic, we shouldn't expect Comskip to work on any ATSC 3.0 recordings until FFMPEG fully supports MP4 files. And since both are Open Source Software, there's no telling when that will happen.
