HDHomeRun - power won't stay on. Repairable?

I was moving some things around in my A/V cabinet, and I noticed my HDHomeRun was no longer on. If I apply a little lateral pressure to the power plug where it connects to the HDHomeRun, the power comes on briefly. On closer inspection inside, one of the solder joints (there are four) connect the power input to the board MAY be broken, hard to tell for sure. I'll likely try that as a repair regardless, but wanted to know if any others here have run into a similar issue? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

The only issue I have run into is the power supply failing.

Contact Silicon Dust, they are pretty responsive, and will likely replace it. Contact – Silicondust

Did you ever get it worked out? I am having the same issues and had a look and suspect the same. I just put in a ticket after reading this thread.

Yes, I did. I contacted Silicon Dust and they exchanged my old HDHomeRun for a new unit. Great service, and they responded quickly - I had the new one in a few days.

Thanks for the quick response. Ive sent in a ticket hopefully they are that great in the UK.

This happened to me with another device—a router, in my case. The power connector became a bit loose over time due to constant use and slight pressure. Upon inspection, I found that one of the solder joints had cracked.

Using a simple soldering iron and some solder, I was able to fix the issue, and the device worked perfectly again. If you have experience with soldering, it sounds like this could be a straightforward fix. Just make sure to completely unplug the device before attempting any repairs, and check the other joints for potential issues while you’re at it.

These types of problems are common with connectors that experience repeated pressure, but they’re usually easy to resolve with a quick repair.
