HDHomerun with Channels DVR getting Reconnect Error when watching TV

PROBLEM FIXED : DUE TO LOSS OF DRIVE MAPPING FOR DVR FILES

Hi

I have an Silicon HDHomerun tuner. I tested the tuner and it works fine using the HDHomerun app in Windows 10. But when I try to watch TV in the Channels I get a message stating "Reconnecting" and I get no video

I have done the simple things. Powered down the HDHomerun and also restarted the computer. But still same problem.

again can watch TV using the HDHomeRunView app so I know the SiliconDust HDHomeRunView works

Thank You

Please describe your setup. What device and OS is the Channels DVR on?

Window 10 Pro Box. I7 chip. 32 gig RAM. Running on Chrome.

Same error occurs on Opera Browser as well and on another computer in the same home

Atsc3 or atsc1?

Slampman.

not sure ? How do I answer that?

Are you getting the reconnecting message on the Windows 10 computer that is running the Channels DVR Software?

If you don't know then it's probably 1.0. I ask becuase if you are using an hdhomerun 4k tuning a 3.0 station I have seen that message on the webui

Yes and on a second computer

And you get the reconnecting message browsing on the same computer as the DVR? That's strange

If from the other computer it would indicate a network issue

What is the model of the hdhr?
Like HDHR5-4K, HDHomeRun Quattro, Scribe, ect? It will say under sources in the dvr server web ui

Morris, It's on every computer in the house. Not a networking issue. I can use the Native HD Home run software to watch TV.

It's an HDHomeRun PRIME

Try clicking Scan Network on your sources gear dropdown (next to + Add Souce) in the DVR web UI.

Channel is probably drmโ€™d. Will it play on any other channels dvr clients? The hdhr app will play drm content but channels will not. I donโ€™t think they can legally drm local channels though

If you also have TVE as a source, it could be trying to stream from a TVE channel instead of the HDHR Prime.

Looking at the DVR log should tell you.

Also look for any errors in the log. The answer or at least a hint is probably in there.

I do not have TVE as a source

I would do the scan network I mentioned in case your Prime changed its IP address.
Also look in the DVR log and HDHR Prime System log when you encounter the problem.

I FOUND THE PROBLEM IN THE LOG FILE

turns out the DVR location was not accessible. I was using a networked drive for Channels Recording that I had unmapped a few days ago. I should make that local.

Thank you for all your help folks
