HDHR, Failed: Could not start stream

In the last week I've had two recordings fail to record on the same CBS channel.

It just gives a message:

"Failed: Could not start stream on channel=[3.1]: HDHomeRun: Tune Failed."

I've been using the Channels DVR software with this HDHR quad tuner for a long time without issues. What further troubleshooting methods I can use to figure out what caused this?

Just to add information. The first time it failed was set to record 3 shows in a row on the same channel. The first show failed and the second two recorded fine. The second time it failed, I had tuned to that channel about an hour before just to check for any potential reception problems and it came in just fine.

That's an error from the HDHR. Would recommend checking for firmware updates. On the HDHR web UI you can enable diagnostic logging and contact [email protected] for help

I'll see if Silicon Dust can help further.

There was a firmware update waiting, which I just told it to install, but I've been using this all summer long without any problem like this.

Did Channels DVR make changes in the last few weeks that might have required new firmware? Do the broadcasters have the ability to cause chaos in some way? Why would it happen twice in the same week?

The most common issue is power supply failure but only SD can view the HDHR debug logs. There's nothing that changed on our end that could cause this.

Does the channel tune live?

Often secondary tuners are affected so it might only trigger when 2 other recordings are in progress.

Yes. The channel does tune live. Also to make matters more interesting, this CBS channel that failed shares it's carrier frequency with a another channel, and today I was recording from both channels when the CBS channel failed to start.

Maybe the CBS channel is just doing something weird.

Channels DVR works on everything in the house but not on my Iphone or Macbook. Any ideas how to get this to work?
