HDHR Prime Finding Duplicate Channels

I managed to get my hands on an HDHR3-CC (HDHR Prime) from eBay. Popped over to the local Xfinity store yesterday and they actually had a CableCard that they were able to hand me on the spot. Got the Prime all hooked up and running in a matter of minutes.

When I did a channel scan with the Prime, it found over 300 channels. However, when I look through the list, I see a lot of duplicates. And I'm not talking about SD vs. HD. I'm seeing duplicate HD channels. I didn't take the time to A/B the duplicates to figure out what, if anything, is different. Was wondering if anyone else with a Prime has seen this and knows what the deal is.

I don't have a Prime but am planning to get the Prime 6 if and when it appears. I'm wondering if what you're seeing is main and regional feeds. For example, TBS and TBSP: TBS HD and TBS HD Pacific.

This is common. Channels are often duplicated, but they resolve to the same stream/frequency. The cable company boxes usually combine them all into a single channel (including SD and HD), but other software may not do that.

Feel free to use whichever channel number you like. Or if you find it confusing, disable the extra numbers and only keep one.

XFINITY Also has channels greater than 1000 sorted by Category. Sports news etc grouped together.
