I started this thread to hopefully focus on the direct issue. I got an antenna set up this weekend a pulled about 124 channels (most are duplicates). But, I started to notice that at times my channels would start stuttering and pretty much unwatchable even though I still have great signal strength and quality. I replaced the coax from the antenna to the HDHR and I was about the buy a new ATV thinking that might be the problem. But, I believe I finally found the issue I just don't know how to fix it. It seems that whenever something is recording regardless if it's from my OTA or TVE channels. I had something recording tonight and everything starting stuttering OTA and TVE stations. I deleted the recording and everything stopped stuttering. Can someone help me fix this? Do I need to change my source priorities on the server? I currently have HDHomeRun, Midco, Philo, and then Pluto as the order of my sources. I also clicked on the Manage lineup and favorited only the stations I want to show up and hid the ones I don't want. Do I need to change this around somehow? I want to be able to record obviously so I need to clear this up. I noticed yesterday when I was having these issues something was recording as well.
What happens if you disable tuner sharing, start a recording and then try to watch a live ota channel?
Also, what server device are you using for Channels DVR.
Sounds like it may be CPU, disk or network related.
I'm using a Mac Mini M1 for my DVR server.
Sounds like local network bandwidth problems. How are things connected to your LAN? Which are Ethernet? Which are wireless? What speed to the DVR server do your clients report (thats something you get at from settings-advanced)? Do you have tuner sharing enabled?
I have a fiber internet connection and my DVR server and HDHR are running into a switch which is then connected to my router. But, I figured out the problem. I spent some time on the phone with Silicon Dust support and we figured out that it was my living room Apple TV. Something is wrong with the wifi in it working correctly. I replaced it with a different Apple TV and had no issues. I even recorded 2 shows at the same time while watching live tv and everything worked as it should.
I did have a side question, I have my ATV format set to 1080p (SDR) I read a post on here that said something about setting the Match Content. But, do I do that in the ATV settings or in the Channels App? I noticed both places talk about Match Content.
On the Apple TV. You can also set it within channels and see how it works.
