Disable your ad blocker

how is an adblocker running on channels?

TVE uses a browser. if that browser has an ad-blocker in front of it...

Its only there if you set it up on the server or on your router.

I don't know whether this is relevant to this issue but I recently installed AdGuard Home as an integration in Home Assistant. Then I configured my router to use AdGuard as its DNS, thus "securing" my whole network.

After I did that, I ran the Troubleshooting in Channels DVR and "DNS Ad Blocking" was red. Not only that, but it told me exactly what domains I had to put in the white list in order to make it green.

Maybe that will help.

Yeah...I stay away from using my Channels server PC for daily use. Add that pc to your adguard home (or pihole) whitelist and use another computer for daily use.

I have been using Adguard Home for years. I use many block lists, including 3 very large ones, considered to be the best and most effective lists. (1Hosts, OISD, AdGuard DNS Filter)

I have never had any issues with it blocking things to the point that Channels DVR can not work or authorize a TVE network. (yet)

That being said however, TVE is a always fluctuating thing, and each provider may change login forms or whatever at anytime, and DNS ad blocking can cause issues at anytime. Yes, u can whitelist the domains the server troubleshooter checks for, however, those are just a few used just for that diag check.
You would need to check AdGuard Home's logs, sorted by Blocked and client (your server), to see what it is infact blocking when u are trying to tune a TVE station, or add a TVE provider. I have whitelisted many domains that it has blocked, despite the fact that it still authorizes fine, after a short delay, in some cases.

The official stance here though, is to disable any ad blockers. If you use a self hosted DNS network based adblocker, whitelist the computer your server is on, so that it is 100% unfiltered. This is most ideal and doable, if you use a dedicated computer for your Channels DVR server.
