Help Moving Channels DVR Server to a New Computer

Hi:

I am in the process of moving my DVR Server to a new computer, and I am not sure how to:

  1. Find your data directory and move it to the new computer or NAS. This is the directory listed next to the DVR checkbox from the previous step.

I purchased an additional Mac mini as well as a WD external hard drive, but I am unsure on how to proceed... Can I set up the external HD on my main Mac and then connect it to the other mini? In any case, I need step by step instructions--as I am an old guy, and barely computer literate!

Looks like your DVR directory has somehow been set to /Applications

So under /Applications you will likely find these folders:

TV
Movies
Imports
Database
Streaming
Images
Logs

You need to select all of these and move them onto the WD external drive. Then you would disconnect that from the old computer and move it to the new computer, and follow the instructions there to select the drive and restore the backup (which is inside the Database folder)
