Need Help setting up hbomax & Dish network
HBoMax does not work with ChannelsDVR.
The best way to deal with HBOMax is with PlayOn Cloud, which integrates with Channels DVR through automatic file transfers. You can select HBOMax (On Demand) titles to record using Playon Cloud and they automatically appear in your Channels library somewhat later.
That is the cost solution. The best way to deal with HBOMax is to stream it.
For Dish Network, you can add it as a "TV Everywhere" source.
For Dish, follow the "TV Everywhere" section in the installation guide:
For HBOMax, follow either the Stream Link guide...
... or the Play On guide...

HBO Max costs to stream it, too.
Some find it a worthwhile option to be able to pay for PlayOn Cloud credits in order to integrate some of that content into the Channels DVR interface as well.
To use PlayON Cloud you will need to pay the streaming fee for HBO Max or have the cost covered by your streaming service. The download to Play On Cloud is an additional cost with a delay to view as the program/movie needs to be recorded and then downloaded.
Yes. I paid for PlayOn credits in bulk, they don't expire. There's no monthly fee. The "additional cost" to me is 10¢ per recording, or 30¢ for 1080p. It's a nice option to have and it integrates automatically with Channels DVR.
I agree completely for myself. Of course, HBOMax itself is a cost issue.
I was referring to the interest in integrating it with Channels DVR. Another option of course would be Stream Links.
A third is to screen capture it and stream the capture stream into Channels. I do this whenever I want to go off-network and still have movies to watch.
