HeroGo TV Looks promising

I did the free trial, for the smallest package, no credit card required. And the streams in the browser were unrestricted, no DRM.

hi there
I believe a lot of people would like the service.
I'm going to give it a spin here and see how it works.

Was that for the FAST channels, though? All of the packages required a credit card when I tried to create a trial account. I would expect the FAST channels to not have DRM.

Yep. Good point. I just don’t trust the service enough to give them my credit card info. I might try later with a virtual credit card I generate via Privacy.com.

Going to try it now with a virtual card and report back.

I just signed up with a privacy card on the free trial.
I think they are still putting things online.
The service would go well with FRNDLY TV.
They are providing east and west cost version of the channels.
I noticed that fs2 is missing. Not a huge deal but if by some chance, a game is going over, you want FS@.
No MLB but that is pretty much MLB tv with ads.
The show case is MLB tv exclusive tub if you have a current subscription you can use the MLB docker to fill over to the game itself.
Thankfully Tugo tv does good in this area.
Musi is from Sting Ray and we get that through one of the other dockers.
if I were to suggest a combo to use with channels it would be FRNDLY and this service or Philo.
I'm going to try the phone now.

Okay, so this service is built on some white label solution from MWareTV called "TVMS." According to this press release, MWareTV does have the content rights to these channels.

Not all of the channels work, but the ones that do work do not have DRM (I think). They are standard playlists that return MPEG-TS files.

Here are the request/response headers for the people who understand this technology a bit better than I do. I can't get them to play in VLC, but I think that might have something to do with CORS.

I should also mention that all of the channels I've tried have options for closed captioning and SAP but they cannot be enabled from the web interface. The video streams also buffer a lot.

Edit: They work in the app.

Hi all
The app doesn't work with my phone's screen reader. The channel line-up is good but really need it in channels for the best experience for me. I can airplay to a device without a problem. going to submit feedback. When I started my trial, I wasn't charged tax.

Hi there,
I have an account setup. We can check out anything while I'm on the trial.
I didn't go with the big plan thankfully, I know how to cancel.
The site still needs a great deal of work but the channel listings as to what is on seems to do well and they do play at least on my iPhone.

thanks

Good info.

Any new service that appears out of nowhere I am leery of.

Apparently they've been around for awhile. Just with FAST channels and freemium stuff.

The bigger news recently was their introduction of paid tiers with all the big broadcast channels. That they botched and apologized for.

It still feels shady to me.

I’m all about using new services and figuring out new ideas on how to be a better cord cutter?
As far as the interface for the service I think it was a little bit sketchy.

I would still like to see more doctor containers for paid services because the majority of the apps out there are garbage and I really enjoy using the channels DVR a lot better

Just revisited, I was curious for any updates, and saw this HeroGo site is completely stripped down now, only mentioning freemium and FAST content, no major linear broadcast networks at all.

Well...that ended real quick. Ah well. They'll always be another

We all new this wasn't a legit site, although some here wanted to pretend it was.

That is not what happened. They were legit, but they botched the launch of their service so badly that they shut the premium stuff down after a few days.

and kept it shut down... for months? :face_with_monocle:
