HeroGo TV Looks promising

Hi Everyone,
Just ready abou aservice that has a number of packages that might be of interested.
http://www.herogotv.com
The7 day trial is available. Looks a lot like Frndly.
Not sure of the channel quality. They have the stations we losst on TVE.
Check out the 7 day free trial.

Interesting, I'm clicking around. My spidey sense says the site feels a bit shady, but what do I know? I clicked the most expensive ($130/month) "Ultimate" plan and see all of these channels:

Anyway, maybe @miibeez would be interested to take a look and make a docker for those who choose to subscribe

I don't think it was ready for release.
Noticed that one of the tech sites reviewed the site and will probably wait to see what is up.
All the comonly available solutions here are doing the job at present.

If it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true.

Which package seems too good to be true? The offerings don't seem that different than other comparable legitimate services.

i was thinking of the $54.00 package.
The DVR in channels would make the service the best.
Looking forward to seeing how the streaming service progresses. The app needs work.

Is there a table or matrix there somewhere that clearly shows which channels are included with each tier?

hi there,
if you click on each select and click select, it shows what is available for the price.
I proceeded to start a trial and it gave me the price plus tax for my area.

Yes but in reality many of the listed channels are actually missing in the app once you subscribe, as the link shared above explains

Missing channels that are advertised as part of the packages is a pretty big red flag for me.

I hadn't heard of them before. And the fact that they offer an "Ultimate" plan for $130/month, that includes 339 channels, many of which are not available anywhere else via TVE, many of which have never been included in a legitimate streaming bundle that large before, including a few HBO and Starz channels, is what's tingling my spidey-senses. Also because in the free demo I tried, the working streams I clicked on were completely unencrypted, no DRM.

Something about it all just feels... shady.

It definitely has that too-good-to-be-true feel. All the other major legitimate streaming services have huge corps behind them, like Google, Disney and AT&T. But out of nowhere pops this incredible bargain from a brand new entity with no prior announcement. I see it as a scam by those who were savvy enough to make their website glossy enough to fool most people. But I’m not buying it.

If you do some searching you would see they've been around for years.
They partnered with FAST Channels TV last year to add FAST channels.
They advertised these new premium channels were coming on their Twitter and Facebook sites.

While they've been around for years, their focus has always been white-label supplying of FAST and VOD to developing markets; the majority of the purported channels that HeroGo is promoting looks to be outside of that sphere. WBD and A+E don't have FAST offerings, and Paramount and Comcast each have their own FAST networks (multiples, even) that don't offer the purported channels that HeroGo claims.

This definitely looks fishy.

Yes, missing channels and apparently, crappy apps, are no good. But even if all channels were working with a good app, I don't think that their packages are that great.

I think Vidgo is a similar service. No backing of a major corporation, and big issues with the service.

Does this service offer TVE? I wasn't aware of any claim that they did.

No, but what I meant was - channels that aren’t available on TVE (like HBO and Starz) and also not usually available without DRM, at least not legally, are advertised here. I wouldn’t be surprised if these are unauthorized pirate streams, that’s all.

But do we know if they are using DRM or not? Is there a way to watch without using their app? I was under the impression that any talk of using this with Channels was just speculation.

The site is probalby not using DRM.
I'm thinking it would be good for use with vlc- bridge or even use it the way the other dockers work.
one would have to get a trial and put the browser in developer mode and see how things are setup with streaming links.
If a docker can be created that exposes the links and keeps the proper user account logged in it very well could be used by channels.
I know if I was using the service, I could easily cancel my Philo but might be a little early to test.
I was thinking of starting a trial to see what is up.
