How Does "Rerecord deleted episodes" work?

I'm not clear on this feature. Does it mean that if I'm recording a show like "Home Improvement," which is only in reruns, and I watch episodes pretty soon after they air, then let Channels delete them, that when that episode airs again, it won't be recorded because it's assumed I've watched it?

Does Channels not re-record any episodes that have been deleted, or ones I delete directly?

I've realized that 5 shows I record to leave on in the background while I work have stopped recording over the last month. Most of these air on LAFF, where they run 4 or more episodes of some shows in a day, so they can run through a full series in a short while. Is it possible these shows are not recording because the episodes airing now have been deleted in the past?

And, last, is there any way, when creating a series pass, to make it default to rerecording deleted episodes? Or to at least include that option when I create a pass? It looks like the only way I can change this setting is to go into DVR, under passes, and pick "Advanced" and change it there.

A Channels pass will not record something you have already recorded, whether it is currently in your library or not. But you can still manually record stuff you have already recorded without changing any options.

If you have the pass set up to record All and rerecord deleted episodes, then when an episode you have watched and deleted reairs, it will record.
