How does the dvr decide what episode to record?

this is a random question, but i'm curious...

let's say i have competing TVE providers that give me access to both east and west coast feeds of a particular channel...with the west coast provider set as a higher priority. i then set up a series pass...since the west coast source has a higher priority i would expect it to record the episode on the west coast feed, even though the east coast feed has the same episode airing three hours earlier. is this how it'll handle it? or will it automatically default to whatever the earliest recording is (the east coast feed on a lower priority source) and ignore the priority of the source in this case?

Yes, earliest time wins. You have to hide the EST channels if you want to prefer the later airings (or edit the rule to exclude those channels).

cool...is there a way to add criteria to passes via api (so i can write a script to change all of them if i want to go that route) rather than having to go in and do it manually in the UI?
