How to download recorded show

I used to be able to download my recordings through my web browser while away from home. Can someone tell me how I can do this?

You can right click the preview screenshot for a recording and copy URL, then paste it and change preview.jpg at the end to stream.mpg

Is there a way to do this in the App itself? Example how Netflix and I think Plex lets you download to your iOS device. This would be handy for the kids.

i never really understood this ask. The files are on the storage device. In my case a NAS. If I wanted them on my mobile, I could just copy them over and then play them. or is the ask to dl via channels app to a device, then playback in channels in like an offline mode?
