How to set up a recoding for a single episode number

I have a season pass recoding schedule that is set pick up new episodes. This works fine.

Unfortunately, one of the recordings was corrupted (through no fault of Channels - we had some horrendous weather) so I would like to re-record it. I know the season and episode number. The show does repeat episodes later in the season. So I would like to set up a recording schedule to pick up this episode when it next shows up.

I cannot use the "record missing episodes" option, since I delete the episodes after I watch them so if I use this option, it will record lots of episodes I have already seen and deleted. Thanks.

  1. Duplicate/copy your existing pass for the show
  2. On the newly created pass, change it to "All Episodes"
  3. On the "Advanced" tab of the pass editor, add rules for "SeasonNumber" and "EpisodeNumber"
  4. Also on the "Advanced" tab, enable the setting to "Re-record deleted episodes"
  5. Move this new pass to a higher priority position than your existing one.

Just make sure you have deleted the episode you wish to re-record.

Or, you can look ahead in the guide for the next airing of that episode and manually select it to record.

I couldn't figure out how to duplicate it, so I created a new advanced pass and manually entered the necessary attributes.

Why did I need to change the priority? Doesn't that only apply if I run out of tuners for simultaneous recording?

Because your other pass would match first, and then the DVR would see it had already recorded the episode, and it wouldn't record.
