When watching live tv there are times I decide I want to record the show I’m watching. How do you do this and does it record the entire show?
Press/swipe down to bring up the Quick Guide; there will then be a button below the current program's description that says "Record". If you select it, it will start recording the current program. (The recording will only begin from when you press the button; if you select it 17 minutes into the airing, the first 17 minutes will be missing.)

This works but only if the same program is on. Once the next program comes on it will try to record the previous program.
That sounds like a bug. Which platform/device did you experience that on?
It was on a Fire TV Stick 4K.
