Hulu Live TVE broken...again

submitted diagnostics e5548bd9-e0a9-4a90-8720-34e8919d152d with regard to this issue

I successfully added Hulu to TVE a little while ago, after a long time of it not working right, but when I went to go record FS2 today I noticed it and a lot of other channels I should have were missing due to this chrome "failed to lock" issue -- that's a separate issue to deal with later. this problem started when, trying to fix that, I tried removing Hulu as a source and adding it again. problem is, I can't add it again!

at first, the login appears to go through, and I will get a code in my email as before. I am never prompted for the code, though, and it fails with "Chrome timeout" after 5-6 minutes. after a couple of failed attempts, my login starts being blocked entirely (always "wrong password", even though it's not), probably due to some security thing on their end, and I have to change my password to get back to the first state.

scouring this forum for tips, I upgraded to the latest beta and no change. logging in to nbc.com/live first (as has been suggested) works fine, but doesn't fix it. changing my password and checking the "log out of all devices" box didn't change anything. I would downgrade to 2024.08.13, which I think is the version that works, but you can't do that as it immediately upgrades to 2024.09.10 on boot.

anyone have any suggestions or do I have to live with this being broken?

Its pretty much dead. The face that you got it to work at all is something. I gave up on it a long time ago. Im glad it quit working though. I tried YTTV and it made me realize how bad hulu live sucks. Couldn't be happier with YTTV

Are you talking about the YTTV service itself or the TVE support for Channels?

I'm just curious in what way you use it.

Sometime in November (or definitely before Christmas) I will stop my DirecTV satellite subscription and switch to streaming. So I'm very interested in people's experiences with different streaming services.

Both. I use it for TVE access and also for ADBtuner. I wanted history as well so i supplement with FrndlyTV

This is something different going on with FS1 fs2 and big10. I’ve never seen an error screenshot like this.

Are you able to login and watch with Hulu credentials here Fox sports
I get weird errors on the site but I’m trying on a mobile device

I have ADBTUNER and YTTTVE working well together.
I've got FRNDLY and added Philo for some stuff that isn't covered.
Always good to have ooptions at the ready that can be put in place.

I got this error too tonight while trying to re-add Hulu for TVE. Luckily I primarily use ADBTuner so this isn't a disaster, but still disappointing.

Wow!
Going from Hulu to YTTV to DirecTV to FrndlyTV to Philo and ADBtuner all in one Topic.
You missed Xfinity. I get Fox Sports on Xfinity

after an exchange with support where they understandably didn't seem too optimistic about figuring this out, installed the latest pre-release version 2024.09.23.1552 and not only did it start working again but the other issue with channels failing to scan in was fixed. (obviously, handle pre-release versions with care!)

Fox sports fixed their issue yesterday so fs1 fs2 and b1g scanned in successfully for me as well.

When it comes to Hulu I suggest never deleting the source. Scan channels individually when there are issues otherwise if you go full nuclear on the source you will most likely lose all your channels. If authentication fails with wrong password error go to Hulu and change your password then update the password in channels two times and rescan individual channels.

I tried adding Hulu Live as a Channels source today and got the same result as what started this thread. I've read all the Hulu threads on this forum and tried the various "fixes" and still I get either an email from Hulu with my 2fa code to input, which I can't because I never see the input box, or else I get a bad password notice. I currently have Directv Stream working as my TVE source but was wanting to change to either YTTV or HULU but am not having any luck with either. I see a lot of discussions about problems with these providers but I've yet to see a fix that works, at least for me. Here's my latest diagnostic log I submitted if any developers are watching. 4c410cd4-7f9a-4f98-a1ad-3254033e12e6 .If anybody has the magic bullet, I'd appreciate hearing it. I had similar problems with YTTV. I turned off 2fa on Google for YT but that didn't fix it. It does seem that the issue is 2fa related. And yes, I did just install the latest pre-release.

I would give up on hulu TBH. YTTV works great with TVE unless you are using docker. The only way i got it to work is on a standalone Channels server.

I really preferred YTTV but I could not get it to work either. When I tried adding as a source I kept getting an error saying " Blocked by Google: This browser or app may not be secure". I tried 3 different browsers, and disabled 2fa but kept getting that message. So I gave up and thought Hulu would work. But here I am, about to give up on Hulu and stay with Directv Stream.

What platform are you using when trying YTTV? I can get it to work on PCs and my X64 Nas, but cannot on RPi and ARC64 based machines (NAS and RPi).

I'm using a Synology NAS that has a 2GHZ Intel Celeron processor running DSM 7.1.1 OS.

This is frustrating
