Can't log on to Hulu live withe TVE keeps asking for verification code. The code is sent to my email but can't use code within Channels DVR.
Just a question. Did you try logging into hulu live website first? Two weeks ago they made me reset my password right when I tried to login at their website. I think it is most likely a one time passcode to change your password.
On the server machine open a chrome incognito window and go to Hulu live tv site and login to watch. Hopefully it will require a code when trying to sign in and plug in the code. After it lets you in, add hulu to channels sources and scan while that window is open.
A couple of weeks ago hulu forced a password update to link Hulu, espn, and discovery and this was the only way to fix the verify new password with a code error I was getting. You can also check in the dvr folder for a screenshot that may help figure out why it is failing
Yes I did log on to Hulu live and everything works. Im using a QNAP with docker I also used the channels dvd qnap app both gave me same message
In your channels-dvr > data folder does it have a tve error screenshot file? When I had an issue it looked like this
Or view it in a browser at http://127.0.0.1:8089/providers/tve/error_screenshot.png
where 127.0.0.1
is the IP address and 8089
is the port of your DVR server
That's what I kept getting when I would use dvr to log in. I got a email verification in my email but that didn't help nowhere to put in code.
Can you post a screenshot of the screenshot?
Did Hulu Live ever work for you with Channels DVR?
Did you try first logging into nbc.com/live with your Hulu Live credentials?
Yes have it running on my Mac mini for last 5 months. Just wanted to move it over to the nas and run it from there. Haven't tried logging onto nbc but ill try that.
If this is caused by a password change(the screenshot would tell you if it is). There is not much you can do on a nas. On my Linux server I could log into my Hulu live and watch on a regular chrome browser and it did not ask for a code. But it would fail with channels. Channels uses chrome incognito for tve. So I opened an incognito tab a went to watch shows on Hulu a bang it triggered the email and a place to input the code in that tab. Channels scanned after that. This is all on the same computer.
Hulu keeps track of devices including devices those that use tve. You can visit your Hulu account page and see them in there under authorized devices or similar to that. Hulu is treating incognito different for that authorization
Obviously with a nas or even Ubuntu server this creates a problem as there is no way to fire up incognito and enter this one time code.
So what can you do?
-
You could try deleting all the authorized devices in your Hulu account page and try to re add Hulu to channels. I honestly don’t know if this will work but it seemed the first device trying to access tve authorized without a code
-
Wait for the devs to add the ability for you to type the one time code in
-
Go back to your Mac mini as your server and use incognito if needed
Anything new on this topic? Still trying to add Hulu Live to TVE without success. Another developer for allowing ESPN access generates a code to enter online. Since Hulu allows adding a device code online, that strategy might work. Anyone listening?
You could try this
Please go to Support -> Troubleshooting -> Submit Diagnostic Logs from the web interface of the DVR and let us know when it's been submitted so we can have a better idea of what was going on.
