Hulu TVE and 2FA

Trying to add Hulu as a provider. Hulu is sending me a OTP, but there is no way to enter it. Channels eventually fails, and displays a Philo login screen ( I have retried and made sure I am actually selecting Hulu! )
Running the latest beta (2025.06.11.0058)

Did you send logs to the devs?

Hulu doesn't work with TVE auth, I would switch to a different provider. You should think about YTTV instead. Especially if you ever want to do adbtuner. Hulu Live quality is beyond awful.

I have now

Thanks for the info. Xfinity just killed my Cablecards, I am trying to get them re-enabled, but expect this is the end for them, so am trying alternatives. As I already sub to regular Hulu/Disney Hulu LiveTV seemed the obvious choice. Maybe not...

I respectfully disagree with this statement.

I'm running Channels DVR on Windows 11 and had no issues adding Hulu as a TVE source.

It depends on what you mean by "quality". If talking about the picture quality as a standalone streaming service, I know it's not the best and I have heard good things about YouTube TV.

Regardless, if it is used only for TVE, it doesn't matter. All TVE sources provide the same web streams.

I should have said 99% of us have a problem with Hulu live TVE.

For once, I am one of the very few lucky ones.

If keeping Hulu/Disney+ matters to you, you might find DirecTV’s MyEntertainment genre pack worth a look. It’s $34.99/month, and it includes access to ad-supported Hulu, Disney+, and Max.

DirecTV works well with TVE.

A couple of major caveats: locals aren’t included, so this package may not be a good fit if you can’t pull those in OTA.

The package also doesn’t include major sports networks.

Thanks - yeah, locals are the #1 priority! and ota has not been the best here.

Yeah...maybe some sort of combo of Hulu/Disney+ Basic + DTV Entertainment might work for you. Theres PlayOn or Streamfab as an option if you want to get rid of ads too...

The genre packs are nice but honestly, might as well order the choice plan.
If you hadd genre packs at least 2 or more, you might has well order the normal plan.
I did hear that Direct tv was going to come out with the My Locals pack. Definitly would be worth looking at that offrering.

Agreed. If you can get by with just one genre pack, it can be a really good deal. But if you need two or more, best to go with either the Entertainment or Choice signature package, depending on whether you need the RSNs.

Looks like locals might be available - says varies by location, but if I read it right they are where I am. Will dig a little deeper on this.

I think they are in places for MyNews and MySports, but not for MyEntertainment.

The Broadcast TV fee ( or retransmission fee ) has gotten quite expensive.
I now pay $33.70 just for that fee with Xfinity Limited Basic TV service.
For Channels DVR TVE, that gives me local ABC, CBS and FOX (which doesn't work) and C-SPAN.

So, depends on what local channels you can get with DirecTV. In my location, it would only be local Fox (which doesn't work in Channels DVR) and National NBC.

Might be worth checking out Suppose | Compare Streaming TV Services

For Locals, it may be less expensive over the long run to put up an antenna and use a SD HomeRun tuner if you can get your local signals.
