Did you first use a web browser and authenticate with NBC Live before scanning channels in CDVR.
I don't use YTTV, but I think the full email address, unlike Xfinity using username only.
Thanks for the tip to visit Watch the NBC Live Stream - NBC.com because I never did that. I think it will be best for me to remove my YTTV TVE in Channels, authorize my secondary Google account there, and then try adding YTTV TVE after that is successful.
Okay - getting authorized on nbc live appears to have been successful. Now when I'm adding the YTTV TVE source, I'm being asked for the username instead of the email, so I guess I'll stick with that.
Does YTTV TVE use the username (joe) or full email address ([email protected]) for authentication in Channels DVR. With Xfinity it's just the username joe (using [email protected] works with some channels, but not all).
Last time I did it I had to use my email and go to my phone to click the link acknowledging it was me. It took forever for TVE to start checking channels, but it finally did. The link was a pop-up on the screen, not an email btw.
My family member account was created without a phone number, so that could be a problem.
I just re-added YTTV AFTER having been authorized on nbc live and the same channels that failed before are still failing. Based on what Bobby_Vaughn shared, I suspect it's because I'm using an account that doesn't have a phone associated with it. Any idea how to get around that without exposing the paying account?
Google may have options for authentication in the YouTube TV account page. I would check there.
I found out that the crux of the issue is that there was a mismatch in the exact syntax of the address of the family manager and that of the family member and I was held up for not wanting to have a credit card on file for the "member". Now that they match I'm waiting to see if the inheritance of the YouTube TV family share is propagated to the member over the next 12 or so hours. If it doesn't I may have to use my primary account for TVE and not have 2FA on a paying account, which is not ideal.
FYI. From a different thread: RE Primary or sub-account
TVE w/ YTTV, about ½ channels say not authorized

Just got it figured out w/ YTTV support chat, the sub. somehow got tied to a sub google account, and not the primary, so it was authorizing on the wrong account. Appears to be working now.
