Any Idea why I lose the remote DVR and have to go back to the computer to rest everything just to get it to work? My recordings exist, but I can’t access the DVR from any device until I rest it at the computer.
What client device are you using? Is it actually at a remote location or at home on the same network as the DVR?
It’s all in my local network. I’m watching Channels on Apple TV. I set up the DVR server on a windows 7 computer
So DVR and Recordings tab disappear from the app? Or what happens when you notice a problem?
And how are you fixing it on the computer? What do you do to reset?
Yes the DVR option disappears from the app and when I go under settings to reconnect I get an error saying “failure to connect to DVR server” I then go upstairs to my computer and refresh the Channels screen open with the settings. eventually it all comes back after doing so.
Can you check Control Panel > Hardware > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings and see what the “put the computer to sleep” setting is set to?
Just changed it to never - it did go to sleep after 30 minutes. Is that the issue?
Yes that’s the issue.
The DVR is supposed to detect and warn about that, but I don’t think its working on Windows 7.
Can you open powershell to run some commands and paste the output here?
powercfg -getactivescheme
Hi, are things working more reliably since you turned off Sleep?
